FAQ's

Your wallet, which is created during onboarding contains your data such as favourite games, your completed games and games added to your backlog. The wallet also contains any achievement progress, earned achievements such as Retro Eki Stamps and Patches via the seasons section of the app. This data is stored on the BSV blockchain, which means, you own your own data, and is not stored on any 3rd party server. This is completely free to backup and restore your wallet.

This is your unique private key. You may want to take a picture of this screen for your records. If you need to reinstall the app or install the app on another device, you can enter these numbers during onboarding or from the wallet section. This will restore your app data such as favourites games, completed games and backlog games. This also restores your achievements and season progress.

As emulator applications are separate to the Retro Eki application (apart from VisualPinballX which is included in the app), exactly why its failing to launch properly can be difficult to diagnose.  Most supported apps found on https://retroeki.com/supported-emulators/ should launch (this is something we are working on to improve.) Please make sure you 1) Get the emulator up and running first outside of the Retro Eki app. 2) If you are using RetroArch, please make sure you have downloaded the core within RetroArch first. 3) Make sure the emulator is the right emulator you have chosen for a platform during onboarding or from the Emulator Manager screen accessible from the app menu screen.

As some Retro Eki users might not be interested in using Retro Eki to watch TV shows from within the app, the option to show or hide is accessible from the app settings screen. The option is named “Just one more thing”, which is a play on words from my favourite TV show Columbo.

Retro Eki has a staggered approach to allowing more devices. Please follow us on Discord and / or Reddit for updates. It is a priority to open up devices asap.

Are you using a 60hz screen device? VisualPinballX really needs 120hz screen devices for quick response times for flippers. If you have a 120hz screen, please make sure this is enabled in the device settings. The Retro Eki app will attempt to force this, but may not work for your particular device.

You can submit a crash report for investigation. After a table crashes, please open the main app settings, and choose “Submit Crash Report” this will send info on the table failing and associated crash logs. If you can do this, it helps a great deal.
